Plant Based

What is a Plant Based Diet?

Plant Based is a way that anyone can replace grain, meat, and seafood ingredient products with whole vegetable and fruit ingredient products. Here are some products that use plant based as alternative ingredients to meat, seafood, and grain – instead they use mushrooms or vegetables like plantains, sweet potato, or hundreds of other fruits & vegetables.

Why go Plant Based

The main idea is to make plant-based foods the central part of your meals. Vegetarian and vegan diets are also plant-based. Whole30, a popular diet, and lifestyle plan don’t usually qualify. The Whole30 diet is traditionally heavier on animal proteins. However, it is possible to follow this diet in a plant-based way. The Mediterranean diet has a foundation of plant-based foods; it also includes fish, poultry, eggs, cheese, and yogurt a few times a week, with meats and sweets less often. There are several reasons to moving to plant-based nutrition, all supported by excellent science. These benefits include:

  • Easy weight management: People who eat a plant-based diet tend to be leaner than those who don’t, and the diet makes it easy to lose weight and keep it off—without counting calories.
  • Disease prevention: Whole-food, plant-based eating can prevent, halt, or even reverse chronic diseases, including heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
  • A lighter environmental footprint: A plant-based diet places much less stress on the environment
